Client: Chris and Annette Goodwin
Project: 17th century timber frame conservation

We own a period half timbered period cottage in the village of Hodnet which has recently required extensive renovation/replacement of the timber frame.  When considering companies who could undertake the work both their technical competence and reputation were of significant importance to us.  Will and his team at Severn Oak were highly recommended by North Shropshire District Council’s Conservation Office, Philip Belchere.

Predictability in quality, budget and timescales are fundamental for anyone managing home improvement programmes, particularly in the current economic climate. The work that Will and the team undertook for ourselves met all of these criteria. We were particularly impressed with Will’s proactive, open and honest communication that kept us informed of progress and assisted us in all aspects of technical decision making.

Will also demonstrated a “can do” approach to dealing with unexpected challenges on the project. Other companies may have seen these challenges as an opportunity to increase the budget. Will, however was proactive in managing all of these unexpected issues within the project budget without compromising the quality of the end product.

Following completion of the work Will has provided a high level of after sales care taking time out to check that the completed work is performing. This approach and personal pride in the completed work in our experience is un-paralleled. Will and his team are always courteous and highly professional and we would recommend them to anyone who is looking for  professional tradesmen who you can trust to deliver.
